Are you bombarded with spam-like emails offering to advertise your skillsets or writing for a fee? It seems that in the age of technology where information and ideas are at the click of your mouse, that too much of this information can cloud what really works. My mantra is to keep it simple to save my sanity!

Here are some great, simple and inexpensive ideas I've found that can (a) Lead your prospective clients to your website (b) advertise your business or service even when you're not (c) give you a forum to adequately outline your skills and services to people that is free.

Free Ideas that are EASY

Create a tagline for the signature of your emails. Such as the one I'm currently useing "Ghostwriter for Rent" and detail a bit about your services such as "available to write novels, web content, white papers, etc at an affordable price".

Then put all of your contact information such as your name, website url, email address, phone number and fax number. Just think, even if you are sending a casual email to a friend or a joke to someone, you never know when a friend of a friend of a friend will get your email, see your services and hire you! It happened to me, so I know it works.

Example Tag:

Ghostwriter for Rent

Available to write novels, web content, white papers and more at an affordable price.

Write Free Articles for Ezines - Why? I can almost hear you saying! Because you can put your tagline at the end of your articles and establish yourself as an expert on any topic that is your speciality. Mine is career advice/business. So I might write articles on how to get a promotion or how to work with a difficult co-worker or boss. If people like your articles, then they are free to use them on their website with the understanding that they must include your tagline. Voila! More free advertising!

Blog about your services - Blogs are the new avenue of communication. The more you can blog either on your own site or guest blog on other sites, the more your name is seen.

Sign up for Feedblitz or other Syndication Services- Send every contact in your address book that they can sign up for automatic updates on your blog. Again, builds business with minimal effort!

There are so many ways to build your name and services for free. It just takes a little time, thought and imagination!
